Yes guys! It is official, the rumors were true as Peter and Paul Okoye have resolved their differences five years after their ugly rift.

The former members of the defunct music group, PSquare were spotted together on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.

The brothers hugged and shook hands to the admiration of their friends and onlookers.

There have been several indications that the brothers have settled their feud.

About a week ago, they both followed each other on social media.

Paul’s estranged wife, Anita, also shared a video of Peter taking their kids on a shopping spree.

Peter and Paul’s feud first made the headlines in 2017.

It was followed by a very messy fight on social media for months between both parties.

From Instagram shade to Twitter slamming and even the viral video of the brothers almost exchanging blows at their lawyer’s office to insulting each other, the Okoye brothers indeed made the headlines for all the wrong reasons in 2017.

HBO Max confirms ‘Harry Potter’ 20th anniversary special

A ‘Harry Potter’ reunion is officially in the works! According to multiple reports, the cast of the famed fantasy franchise are set to be reunited for an HBO Max special titled ‘Return to Hogwarts’.

Confirming the reports, the streaming platform announced that fans will be invited on a “on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time”.

The streamer also released a teaser on the 20th anniversary of the release of the first film on November 16, 2001.

‘Return to Hogwarts’ will see Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson join the ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ director, Chris Columbus to discuss the films and explore their creation in depth.

The special which premieres January 1, 2022 will also feature interviews, cast conversations and share behind-the-scenes looks at the making of the franchise.

While it is unclear if J.K Rowling will make an appearance on the show, cast members Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane and Ralph Fiennes will reportedly join the reunion.

Basketmouth hints on new partnership with Amazon Prime Video

Star comedian, Basketmouth may have landed a juicy new deal with streaming platform, Prime Video.

The show creator recently teased fans on Instagram with a photo of himself and the Amazon Prime team ( currently in Nigeria for this year’s AFRIFF). He captioned the photo:

“Had an amazing dinner with the Amazon video team last night. #Kutukutukutu is all I can say for now.”

Fans of the star act might know that he constantly uses the hashtag when he has projects in the works, a move that suggests a positive feedback from the Amazon Prime team.

Recall that this year, Basketmouth released two acclaimed comedy series including his latest ‘Ghana Jollof’ which is Showmax’s first Nigerian comedy series original.

Yvonne Jegede scoops 9 awards at just concluded TINFF

Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has unveiled an impressive new feat at the just concluded Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF).

Jegede recently took to her Instagram page to announce that she had swept nine out of 10 awards at the Canadian festival.

“I co-produced a movie Marrying A Campbell to be released 2022. Story by Yvonne Jegede. Script by Yvonne Jegede, Patrick Nnamani and Jane Odogwu,” the actress wrote.

“I acted and I co-executive produced. We just bagged nine out of 10 awards at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival. Allow me to brag because I brag different.”

The yet to be released film follows the story of Rachel Campbell, a wealthy Nigerian socialite and mother of four daughters. Things take a drastic turn when she discovers that her youngest daughter is set to marry the son of an impoverished farmer.

The Ayana Saunders directed film also stars Chelsea Eze, Bolanle Ninolowo, Dave Ogbeni among others and will debut in 2022.

EFCC reportedly seizes Obi Cubana international passport, says he is still in their custody

There are reports the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly confiscated the passport of socialite and businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu popularly known as Obi Cubana.

According to Punch, the seizure of his travel document was to prevent him from leaving the country while under investigation.

Contrary to earlier reports, the billionaire businessman is still in the custody of the commission. “Obi Cubana has not been released, he is still having quality sessions with investigators over alleged money laundering running into millions of naira and tax fraud,” a source revealed.

“He will be released when he has satisfactorily responded to all questions relating to his involvement in various illegal deals. As part of investigation, his travel document has been temporarily seized pending the conclusion of investigations.”

The EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, who confirmed that the suspect is still in custody, however, said he has no information on the seizure of his passport.

Obi Cubana was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday, November 1, 2021.

Obi Cubana is said to have been arrested for alleged money laundering and tax fraud.

The only person that the rapper and mogul is following on the account is his wife, Beyoncé. He is also the only person that Beyoncé is following on IG. The billionaire’s first post interestingly is a photo from Netflix’s The Harder They Fall film.  He co-produced the movie.

Naira Marley shows up in court as EFCC displays more evidence against him

Nigerian music star Naira Marley was at the court to defend himself against the Internet fraud charges levelled against him.

On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, the EFCC testified against the singer, showing various pieces of evidence to buttress its point. According to Anosike, about 2,410 short messages were analysed from the iPhone of the defendant while also stating that different credit card numbers were extracted from the iPhone.

According to the witness, the Apple iPhone is a sophisticated device capable of storing a large volume of information, adding that it is the sim card that basically identifies users of applications such as WhatsApp.

The witness said 977 Short Message Service (SMS) and 1,433 chat messages, were discovered in the witness’ iPhone while adding that there were also seven pending status update messages.

Anosike was still leading evidences in the trial of the defendant, who is facing an 11 counts charge, bordering on conspiracy, possession of counterfeit credit cards as well as fraud.

The anti-graft agency preferred the charges on May 14, 2019

Fashola, who sang the popular song: “Am I a Yahoo Boy”, was consequently, arraigned on May 20, 2019 before Justice Nicholas Oweibo, but he pleaded not guilty.

The court had accordingly, granted him bail in the sum of two million naira, with two sureties in like sum.

Trial had since commenced in the case and the second prosecution witness who began his testimony shortly before the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, continued his evidence on Wednesday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the witness who resumed his testimony on Tuesday, concluded his evidence after the virtual display.

The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Rotimi Oyedepo, had told the court at the last adjourned date, that the prosecution only printed out hard copies of relevant portions of the exhibit, which it considered key to its case.

Sylvester Stallone is exiting ‘The Expendables’ franchise!

Sylvester Stallone has confirmed his exit from ‘The Expendables’ franchise, having just completed the fourth film which will be his final.

Stallone in an Instagram video on Friday made the announcement saying; “This will be my last day, I’m enjoying it, but it’s always bittersweet when something you’ve been so attached to – I guess since, well now it’s been about 12 years – and ready to pass the baton on to Jason [Statham] in his capable hands.”

“The greatest thing is being able to provide films that are somewhat entertaining and maybe there’s a little message in there because what I try to convey in my successful films is the human touch. Not so much the action, the action is self-evident, but it’s just relating to the audience in a way that they can identify with whatever the mission is with the characters at hand… Just providing some escapism and hoping there’s a little something extra in there.”

The series follows the titular Expendables, a group of elite mercenaries led by Barney Ross (Stallone) overthrowing a Latin American tyrant, pursuing vengeance against a rival mercenary, and dealing with a violent arms dealer have all been among the group’s assignments.

However, plot details for the fourth film are being kept under wraps at moment.

The first ‘The Expendables’ film released in 2010 followed by sequels in 2012 and 2014.

Along with Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture appeared in all three films, and the series has also had cameos from Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, and Harrison Ford.

Megan Fox, Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent and Tony Jaa will join the cast of ‘The Expendables 4’. The new installment is scheduled to hit theaters in 2022.

Nigerian music star Burna Boy has revealed how his mother, Bose Ogulu, gets really angry every time shuts down the idea of settling down.

In a post shared via his Instagram Stories on Monday, October 25, 2021, the singer said his mother turns red every time he tells her he is never getting married.

“My mum hates it so much whenever I tell her I’m not getting married. She turns red. My own issue is that now I’m too sure if I really mean it or I just say it to piss her off,” he wrote. ‘Fela Kuti was so hard’- Rap mogul Jay Z on why he included Fela’s record in the soundtrack of new Netflix movie ‘The Harder They Fall’

American rap mogul Jay Z has continued to pay tribute to Fela Aníkúlápó Kuti by including a record by the Nigerian music great in the soundtrack of a new Netflix movie ‘The Harder They Fall’.

Jay Z produced the Western, which stars Idris Elba and Regina King, among others, and curated the soundtrack.

The soundtrack highlights black music from across the world, and Fela’s record ‘Let’s Start’ from 1971 ‘Live’ album is in the project.

The record was also used in one of the trailers for the movie. Jay Z said Fela’s songs represented black people, so he included one of them in the soundtrack.

“The idea of adding those landscapes to these images is super interesting. If you think about the time when Western was super popular and was the only thing on TV, it was influencing the world,” the hip-hop mogul said in an interview at the London screening of the movie.

“So you had people in Jamaica dress up as Cowboys because these are images they had seen on TV.

“So there is actual that place that exists over Western music and we have a few of those.

“Just that juxtaposition of how art influences life and life influences culture was just interesting to us, and Fela Kuti was so hard it was just the best trailer, music of all time.

“That’s what I listen to in the house, Jeymes (Samuel)-director of the movie- as well; that’s what we listen to when we kicking it. SO we just put the things that we really love. Cause it’s magic and magic going work.”

Jay Z has always championed Fela; the rap legend was one of the sponsors and producers of ‘Fela!’ the classic musical about the Nigerian Afrobeat pioneer on the legendary Broadway.

In 2016, he added Fela’s anti-military protest anthem ‘Zombie’ in his playlist highlighting social injustice in America.

Nigerian music veteran Charly Boy’s daughter, Dewy, has shared the homophobic messages she received from some Nigerians.

Dewy shared the shocking and demeaning messages via her Instagram Stories on Sunday, October 24, 2021.

“I’m coming for your head. Keep promoting nonsense and burn in hell,” one of the messages read. Another homophobic message highlighted Dewy’s continuous desire to make the LGBTQ community acceptable. According to the writer of the message, straight people are not known for forcing their relationships down the throats of people.

Dewy first publicly announced about her sexual preference in 2018.

Later in an interview that same year, she revealed that it took her parents a while to adjust after she came out as a lesbian.

Alec Baldwin reacts to accidental shooting, says he is ‘heart broken’

Alec Baldwin has broken his silence on the accidental death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of ‘Rust’. The actor shared in a statement on Friday that he was heartbroken for Hutchins’ family and was cooperating with the police on the ongoing investigation.

“There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours.

“I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna,” Baldwin tweeted.

The tragic accident occurred on Thursday after 68-year-old Baldwin reportedly accidentally fired a prop gun killing the Ukrainian cinematographer and injuring director Joel Souza.

Hutchins and Souza were taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital by helicopter where she was pronounced dead. Souza is reportedly being treated.

The western which was being filmed at the Bonanza Creek ranch outside Santa Fe, New Mexico has been suspended with the police stating that investigations leading to possible criminal charges have been opened.

Co-produced by Baldwin, ‘Rust’ is set on a 13-year-old boy who goes on the run after accidentally killing a local rancher. Baldwin starred in the lead role as a notorious outlaw named Harland Rust.

YouTube today announced a roster of 54 artists, songwriters and producers selected to join the #YouTubeBlack Voices Music Class of 2022. Among the acts from Australia, Brazil, Canada, USA and the UK are eight African artists based in Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya.

Supported by the #YouTube Black Voices Fund, the #YouTubeBlack Voices Music Class of 2022 is a development program designed to directly support and mentor Black artists, songwriters & producers worldwide. The addition of songwriters and producers to the 2022 class demonstrates the continuation and expansion of Youtube’s efforts to support Black artists on the platform.

With the aim of equipping up-and-coming Black artists, songwriters & producers with the resources to succeed on YouTube, the class will be grouped into two program streams: one for artists and one for songwriters and producers.

Class participants will each receive dedicated partner support, seed funding to invest in the development of their channels, and opportunities to participate in training and networking programs focused on production, fan engagement and wellbeing.

Over the next 6 months, they will also get opportunities to develop their catalogues and collaborate with other global artists, songwriters, and producers who have also been selected to take part in the program.

Dozens of Netflix employees stage protest over Dave Chappelle’s ‘The Closer’

Netflix staff, transgender activists and supporters recently staged a walkout outside the streamer’s Los Angeles offices over Dave Chappelle’s ‘transphobic’ jokes in his ‘The Closer’ stand-up comedy show.

The protests held on Wednesday, saw the protesters demand for inclusivity from the global streaming platform by calling for the funding of more trans and non-binary talent as well as the rejection of transphobic content.

Several videos currently making the rounds featured several Netflix stars including Jonathan Van Ness (Queer Eye), Jameela Jamil (The Good Place) who took turns addressing the demonstrators.

Prior to the protests, Netflix had reportedly released a statement in solidarity with the protesters. However, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos had released a statement saying he ‘screwed up’ for his initial comment on the heavily criticized show. He also maintained that his stance on not letting go of the show remains resolute.

Netflix and Chappelle have been embroiled in weeks long controversy over the comedy special released in October 5. The stand-up comedy star joked about Transgender people saying ‘gender is a fact’ and that LGBT people are ‘too sensitive’.

Chappelle has laughed off the backlash, recently saying: “If this is what being cancelled is about, I love it.”

Other LGBT celebrities including Elliot Page and Lilly Wachowski have also voiced their support for the protests on social media.

The Ghanaian dancehall act has been remanded by an Accra Circuit Court today over a charge of the publication of false news. He appeared in court wearing an all-white matching hoodie.

Whilst being whisked into a police van, Shatta Wale spoke to the media and other fans chanting his name. He said, “every day Shatta Wale do this, Shatta Wale do that, I want to f*cking go to jail“.

“Just send this to them, tell them I want to sleep in jail for this … fake prophets,” he added In the video below

Out of the staged reports that he has been shot on Tuesday, 18th October, Shatta Wale was slapped with one count of publication of false news while his three other accomplices, were charged with abetment to the publication of false news.

Meanwhile, during the hearing of his case, the dancehall act and his accomplices pleaded not guilty and have been ordered to reappear before the court on October 26, 2021.

Mr Jerry Avenorgbo who is the lawyer for accused persons prayed the court to grant his clients bail because they were not a flight risk and had a fixed place of abode. However, the prosecution, led by Chief Inspector Dennis Tekpetey opposed the bail application urging the court to remand the accused persons for further investigations.

According to him, another aspect of the case was still under investigation and hence granting bail to the accused persons will interfere with the investigation. His comment is believed to be in relation to the Prophet, Jesus Ahoufe, who first prophesied that Shatta Wale would be shot on 18th October.

The man of God has also been remanded and expected to appear in court again on 25th October.
