Lagos Inferno: Truck Driver Escapes As More Videos, Photos Hit Social Media

The driver of the fuel laden truck that exploded in Lagos leading to the death of at least nine persons and burning of 54 vehicles on Thursday did not die from the inferno, The Eagle Online has gathered.
The driver, according to available information, jumped out of the vehicle before it eventually crashed and went up in flames.
Before and after jumping out of the vehicle, the driver was said to have waved frantically to vehicles behind him to make room for the tanker as it was rolling back.
As confirmed by the Federal Road Safety Corps, the tanker had lost its brake and was rolling back on the Michael Otedola Bridge on the ever busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
At the time of the accident, which was put at 5:30pm by the Corps Education Officer of the FRSC, Commander Bisi Kazeem, the stretch of the road usually witnesses traffic snarl, thus resulting in the inability of drivers to manoeuvre.
As at press time, it could not be confirmed if the driver had been arrested.
