North Korean Leader charges military to reinforce to check foe

North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un has charged the Asian country’s military to “bolster up their strength in every way to annihilate the enemy’’.

Kim made the remarks during photo sessions with troops, state media broadcasters and others, involved in a massive military parade staged Monday, which marked the 90th anniversary of the country army.

Photos released by state media showed Kim perched on a white horse and wearing a white, military-style tunic with gold trim as he reviewed the troops.

Monday’s parade had featured several of the North’s latest missiles, including its largest intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), the Hwasong-17 and a recently tested hypersonic missile. “The display demonstrated the modernity, heroism and radical development of the armed forces of the Republic and their matchless military and technological superiority,’’ Kim told troops at the photo session, state news agency KCNA reported.

North Korea says it opposes war and that its weapons are for self-defense, but at Monday’s parade, Kim said the mission of its nuclear force goes beyond deterring war to also include defending the nation’s “fundamental interests”.

Last month, North Korea resumed testing its largest ICBMs and there are signs it could soon test a nuclear weapon for the first time since 2017.

“Current satellite imagery indicates that preparations are well underway and should not be discounted as insignificant activity,’’ the U.S.-based Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) said in a report on Thursday.

Analysts and South Korean as well as the U.S. officials have alleged that the North appears to be restoring Tunnel No. 3 at its Punggye-ri Nuclear Test Site, used for underground nuclear blasts before it was closed in 2018 amid denuclearization talks with Washington and Seoul.

Kim has since declared the country is no longer bound by that self-imposed moratorium on tests, but North Korea has not commented on the work or confirmed its purpose.

HBO Max confirms ‘Harry Potter’ 20th anniversary special

A ‘Harry Potter’ reunion is officially in the works! According to multiple reports, the cast of the famed fantasy franchise are set to be reunited for an HBO Max special titled ‘Return to Hogwarts’.

Confirming the reports, the streaming platform announced that fans will be invited on a “on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time”.

The streamer also released a teaser on the 20th anniversary of the release of the first film on November 16, 2001.

‘Return to Hogwarts’ will see Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson join the ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ director, Chris Columbus to discuss the films and explore their creation in depth.

The special which premieres January 1, 2022 will also feature interviews, cast conversations and share behind-the-scenes looks at the making of the franchise.

While it is unclear if J.K Rowling will make an appearance on the show, cast members Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane and Ralph Fiennes will reportedly join the reunion.

Actress Foluke Daramola Salako’s husband denies reports their marriage has crashed

Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola’s husband, Olukayode Salako, has debunked the rumours that their marriage has crashed.

Salako made this known in a lengthy post via his Facebook page on Monday, October 11, 2021.

“Foluke Daramola Salako and I still share the same bedroom. In fact, we woke up on that same bed this morning. Let those silly merchants of beer parlor and pepper soup joint journalism continue to write their rubbish about us. They have been doing it since we got married,” he wrote.

“They have started circulating another false and unfounded silly-gossip information about our marriage this time again. They will continue to write their rubbish and we will continue to bond better and better in it for the celebration of the fantasy of our 10 years anniversary, which is coming in 4 months time.”

“Our 10th anniversary as a couple is loading. We will invite them to come and see how okay we are and how good we shall continue to be together in it.”

“They want it to break by force. They have tried and tried it for the 10 years through so many media blackmail, means and sources, but little do they know that we have decided to continue to be unbreakable. Foluke Daramola Salako and Olukayode Salako are good and are still okay together.”

He went on to shower praises on the movie star while dispelling the rumors about the cracks in their marriage.

“Foluke is a very good and responsible woman. The two of us are still good together and we do not intend to end it any time soon for any reason, because it is a divine project of God that is beyond the two of us,” he added.

“And, that is why it is still possible for us to be running, maintaining and sustaining it until now. She is still Mrs. Foluke Daramola Salako and I am still her proud husband.”

Salako said their marriage is still intact and advised those spreading the rumors to desist from doing so.

Nigerian media personality IK Osakioduwa has penned a cute note to celebrate his wife, Olohi, on their 13th wedding anniversary.

The On-Air personality took to his Instagram page on Sunday, October 3, 2021, where he shared photos of himself and his wife, then captioned the photos with the cute note.

“Thirteen years later, you are still the prettiest girl in the room (but you’re still not about that You’re still the most fiercely loyal person I know (emphasis on the fiercely) You still like to “form hard guy hard guy” (but a small thing like a popped balloon can bring you to tears),” he wrote.
