Wizkid has announced via his Instagram story that he will be releasing new music in two days time. Wizkid posted “New Music?” before following it up with “Something very special in two days.”

The post has generated excitement from fans who have been waiting for new music from the Grammy-winning artist. If the upcoming single turns out to be owned by Wizkid rather than a featured track, this will make it Wizkid’s first single since he released ‘Made In Lagos’ deluxe.

In 2022, Wizkid has been featured on a number of singles including by Chris Brown, BNXN, and DJ Tunez.

No one wants to intentionally make a bad movie – Stella Damasus

The veteran actress took to her Instagram handle to share a heartwarming video detailing how much work goes into Nollywood films and the sometimes, non-constructive criticism they get online.

“So I’ve gone online a couple of times and I hear people criticizing the Nigerian movie industry, criticizing our films and condemning it,” Damasus said in the Instagram post.

“Not even constructive criticisms but really negative things and it hurts me because they think it is easy to get a bunch of people together, get crew, get cast, get them to different locations, shoot morning to morning, suffer.

“I don’t think anyone wants to waste time and money and intentionally make a bad film. We do our best with the little we have. We try, we push and that’s why we still have a thriving industry today, because of the hard work.”

Damasus’s video in solidarity with Nollywood has expectedly been well received by filmmakers who took to her comments section with positive reactions.

The actress is unarguably one of the very few vocal voices in the industry that indiscriminately promote Nollywood content.

Meanwhile, the actress recently launched a YouTube monologue series tagged ‘In The Chair’. The series debuted with a monologue about sexual abuse.

Timaya spoils himself with Ferrari sports car worth over N100M

According to the Reggae Dance hall singer, he had to abandon all his girlfriends so he could spoil himself with the exotic car. In a series of photos and videos shared via his Instagram page on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, the singer showed off his latest addition to his fleet of cars.

I left my gal friends and got a new baby. FERRARI 458 Iconic. CHULO way,” he captioned the photos and video.

According to popular car website, Carbuzz, a Ferrari 458 goes around $276,500 – $300,000.

Timaya is known for owning some pretty expensive cars in his garage.

It would be recalled that in 2018, the music star spoiled himself with a Mercedes Benz G Wagon and a Maybach.

A few months ago, the music star was involved in a hit-and-run accident.

According to an Instagram user, Osinubi Omowumi, who claimed to be the sister of the victim, the music star rammed his car into her sister after she challenged him for damaging her car.

“These celebrities and how they behave @Timaya almost killed my sister this morning. She hit her car with his car and ran. At Ikate few hours ago, he hit my sister’s car and came down and came down to ask him to look what he did,” she wrote.

Timaya later released a statement where he debunked the accusations.

Kourtney Kardashian changes last name to ‘Barker’ on Instagram

Kourtney Kardashian and her drummer hubby Travis Baker had a star-studded wedding over the weekend. A look on the reality TV star’s IG page shows that she now goes by the name, Kourtney Kardashian Barker.

It is not clear if the mother of three has also changed her name legally or plans to do it in the future.

Baker and the oldest Kardashian had their beautiful wedding ceremony in Italy over the weekend. They had earlier had a court wedding at the downtown courthouse on Anacapa.

It was attended by the Kardashian’s grandmother, Maa mony Jo “MJ” Campbell, and Barker’s father, Randy, could be seen standing by their sides.

This is coming a month after the couple had a fake wedding ceremony in Las Vegas.

According to PageSix, the couple had a ceremony but there was nothing legal about it, as they never got a marriage license, sources familiar with the situation revealed.

“They had a ceremony, but on paper, it’s not legal yet,” the source revealed.

The records of marriage licenses in that district also revealed the couple never had any nuptials.

If the marriage had taken place it would have been Kourtney’s first marriage and Baker’s third attempt at marriage.

Kardashian and Barker got engaged during a beachfront proposal in October 2021 after dating for about nine months.

Kourtney has three children with ex Scott Disick, and Barker shares two kids with ex-wife Shanna Moakler.

Baker proposed to Kourtney in 2021 in a beautiful, expensive and intimate ceremony.

Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma has revealed that he has been banned from entering the United States of America.

The comedian made this known why answering questions from his fans via his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, April 27, 2022.

According to Bovi, he was banned from the country after he clashed with a visa-issuing officer and got labelled. The popular comedian said he was banned from entering the United States of America because he had an ego clash with a visa issuing officer. “ill luck! Met a charity like issuing visa officer. Egos clashed! I got labelled,” he wrote.

When asked to advise people addicted to hard drugs including cocaine, the comedian urged victims to “seek help through therapy. To defeat something stronger than you, you need something/someone more powerful than you.”

The couple took to their social media pages on Sunday, April 10, 2022, where they shared the big news.

In the video which has since gone viral, Mr Eazi is spotted on one knee proposing to the billionaire heiress.

According to several reports, the actor fatally shot a cinematographer and injured a director during a tragic accident when a prop gun discharged on the New Mexico movie set of the film ‘Rust.’

“There was an accident today on the New Mexico set of ‘Rust’ involving the misfire of a prop gun with blanks,” a production spokesperson told Deadline.

The Western drama’s director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, and its director, Joel Souza, were struck in the incident, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office.

Hutchins was airlifted to the hospital and died from her injuries.

Navy vows to punish Cute Abiola, says he deliberately violated social media policy

The Nigerian Navy has again explained the reason naval personnel and online comedian, Abdulgafar Ahmad Oliuwatoyin, better known as Cute Abiola is being detained.

The spokesperson for the Nigerian Navy, Commodore Suleiman Dahun in an interview with Punch said the Instagram comedian deliberately flouted the armed forces social media policy.

“There is an armed forces social media policy that was promulgated by the defense headquarters, and its principal regulation is that military personnel should not post photos or videos of themselves in uniform while engaging in personal or official activities, Dahun said.

“Military personnel are also not allowed to make comments or share official military decisions, activities or operations on social media. They are also not allowed to forward materials on social media. Copies of the policy are available with the Director of Defense Information. It is not a restricted document, so it can be made available to anyone who needs it.”

He said after violating the rule, naval authorities invited Abiola, who was on leave at the time to come and explain himself, but he ignored their calls.

“When we got the clip wherein he violated the policy, we asked him to come back to explain himself but he did not return. His commanding officer called him to explain himself concerning the video clip but he ignored his commander and didn’t return until his leave was over.

“When he returned, he was put in custody. If he had come back when he was called upon to explain himself, we would not be discussing this. We are not in an animal farm. We are human beings too but laws have to be obeyed,” he said.

Dahun further said the comedian would be tried first and if found guilty, he would be punished.

“He would get his due punishment, a light one, not something hard. We recognize that he is an entertainer and he could even be given an opportunity to showcase his talent during (social) events of the Nigerian Navy or the Armed Forces. There are two

We gained over 70m new users during Facebook outage — Telegram

Messaging app Telegram gained over 70 million new users during Monday’s Facebook outage, its founder, Pavel Durov, said on Tuesday, as people worldwide were left without key messaging services for nearly six hours, Reuters has reported.

Facebook blamed its outage, which kept its 3.5 billion users from accessing services such as WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger, on a faulty configuration change.

“The daily growth rate of Telegram exceeded the norm by an order of magnitude, and we welcomed over 70 million refugees from other platforms in one day,” Durov wrote on his Telegram channel.

Durov said some users in the Americas may have experienced slower speeds as millions rushed to sign up at the same time, but that the service worked as usual for the majority.

EU antitrust chief Margrethe Vestager said the outage demonstrated the repercussions of relying on just a few big players and underscored the need for more rivals.

Russia said the incident showed Moscow was right to develop its own sovereign internet platforms and social networks.

WhatsApp’s nearly six-hour-long outage on Monday hit trading of assets from cryptocurrencies to Russian oil, market players said, although a quick shift to alternative platforms such as Telegram limited severe disruption.…

Facebook founder and Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg’s personal wealth has reduced by more than $6 billion in a few hours, knocking him down a notch on the list of the world’s richest people.

The drastic reduction in his net worth was largely due to a revelation by a whistleblower and also outages that affected Facebook Inc’s flagship products.

The flagship products include Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp.

According to a report by Yahoo Finance, a selloff sent the social-media giant’s stock plummeting 4.9 per cent on Monday, adding to a drop of about 15 per cent since mid-September. The stock slide on Monday sent Zuckerberg’s worth down to $121.6 billion, dropping him below Bill Gates to No. 5 on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

He’s down from almost $140 billion in a matter of weeks, according to the index.

On September 13, the Wall Street Journal began publishing a series of stories based on a cache of internal documents, revealing that Facebook knew about a wide range of problems with its products — such as Instagram’s harm to teenage girls’ mental health and misinformation about the January 6 Capitol riots — while downplaying the issues in public.

The reports have drawn the attention of government officials.

And on Monday the whistleblower revealed herself.

In an explosive 60 Minutes interview that aired in the United States on Sunday, data scientist, Frances Haugen, a former employee in Facebook’s civic integrity unit, revealed that she was the source of the internal documents and research showing the company knew of the harmful effects caused by its platforms.

According to DW, the company’s own findings include knowledge of the harms Instagram caused teen girls’ body image perceptions and a two-tier system of penalties for misuse of its platforms, one for celebrities and the other for the public.

“I’ve seen a bunch of social networks and it was substantially worse at Facebook than what I had seen before,” Haugen told “60 Minutes.”

Burna Boy says he will not release an album till further notice

On September 18, 2021, Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar, Burna Boy took to his Instagram stories to break many fans’ hearts. He announced that he will not release an album this year.

On his Instagram stories, he wrote that, “I might decide not to drop an album for a long time. In fact, you know what, no album till further notice.”

In April 2021, Pulse Nigeria reported that Burna Boy teased an August 2021 release for his new album. But having released two singles, ‘Kilometre‘ and ‘Question‘ with Don Jazzy in 2021, he looks to have shelved those plans.

A year without an album release would be Burna Boy’s first since 2017. In the last three years, he has released Outside, African Giant and Twice As Tall, which dropped in August 2020.

OAP Nedu responds to ex-wife’s allegation, says he is not the father of their 1st child

On-Air personality Nedu has replied his ex-wife Uzor Ohiri over the domestic allegation levelled against him. In a post shared via his Instagram page on Saturday, September 4, 2021, the OAP accused Uzor of cheating and revealed that he isn’t the father of their first child.

“Our marriage was one filled with a lot of issues. One of which was continuous infidelity from her side that led to me conducting a paternity test on our kids which led to the revelation that our first son is not my biological son even though he was born within the period during which we were married,” he wrote.

“On the allegation of domestic violence, we have had this matter investigated twice, one the police station in Ajah and another by a competent court of law during the dissolution of our marriage.”

“Both times I was cleared of all allegations and I have the necessary proof to back up my claim. If anyone should be laying claims to domestic violence it should be me.”

He went on to appeal to his ex-wife to desist from washing their ‘dirty linens’ outside.

“I am appealing to my ex wife to remember our kids and to not continue on this path she has chosen as the Internet never forgets and they will one day grow up to deal with this mess she is hell bent on creating,” he added.

“I have no issues wit her and would like to continue to mind the business that pays me. If she has any issues to join me with me, she is free to file her complaints and approach any court of competent jurisdiction to pursue justice. Thanks.”

Patrice Evra says social media allows people to ‘spread racism’ after online abuse of England trio

It only took a matter of minutes after England’s defeat by Italy in the Euro 2020 final to remind everyone of the ugly side of football.

Many came out to condemn the racist abuse Rashford, Sancho and Saka received after missing penalties but very few have been in their boots.

Former Manchester United and France defender Evra, who enjoyed a successful club and international career, says his toughest competition has been racism in the game he loves.

“Football, you know, is a joy to watch and you bring a lot of emotion. And when people are disappointed, you can feel the hate. The hate comes out really strongly,” Evra told Sky News.

“Then people and I don’t know why, instead of saying things like, ‘Oh, he’s such a bad player, he shouldn’t miss a penalty’, they involve your religion, your color.”

Asked how he felt when he heard about the abuse the England trio had received, Evra added: “I wasn’t surprised. I feel it is disgusting. And those people have to be ashamed of themselves because they brought so much shame to the country of England.

“It was painful to watch. Especially because those kids (Rashford, Sancho, Saka) may not be as strong as other people. And it’s not fair because we should be proud of it. “I’m not an English person. But trust me, I was so proud of the way England did this tournament.”

‘Social media companies must do more’

Evra was also on the receiving end of racism on and off the pitch but believes this kind of discrimination in English football is the worst it has ever been.

“Of course, we can delay the comment. They can block people and everything, but I’m sorry, when it’s Covid19 news, straight away you get the flag in any social media, Twitter,” Evra said.

“And when it is about nudity, Instagram, they can ban it straight away. So don’t tell me those platforms can do nothing about the racists.

“I feel like those platforms, they allow those people …
