Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva’s son’s marriage crashes after 3 years

The marriage between Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva’s son, Olusoji and his wife Blessing has crashed.

Blessing made this known in a now-deleted post while answering questions from her followers via her Instagram Stories.

“Are you still married? my bro who is in the UK is madly in love with you,” a follower inquired.

The UK-based mum responded by saying no.

“No. He will have to register for interview o.”

Apparently not satisfied with the response another follower pushed further with the question.

“Are you still married to your husband?”

Her response may have finally put a rest to the reports of their failed marriage.

“No. Oya make una rest,” she replied.

The couple’s traditional wedding was held in Buguma, Port Harcourt while the church ceremony on July 21, was held in Lagos where Pastor Tony Rapu of This Present House Church officiated the ceremony, overseeing the couple’s exchange of wedding vows.

What followed the church ceremony was a big celebration which had a host of celebrity names and faces such as Richard Mofe DamijoHilda DokuboChidinma EkileKate HenshawMonalisa ChindaIretiola Doyle and a host of others.

Joke Silva debunks Olu Jacobs death rumours, says actor is ‘hale and hearty’

Veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva has reacted to rumours currently making the rounds about the demise of her husband, actor Olu Jacobs.

According to Punch, the actress in an exclusive interview debunked the reports and clarified that the veteran actor was enjoying a nice meal at the time.

“Don’t mind them, they’re just talking rubbish; don’t disturb your head. He is in the living room right now about to have Eba and Ogbono soup. Let them keep deceiving themselves. He is hale and hearty”

News of Jacobs’ alleged demise began trending on Twitter on Tuesday evening with fans asking for clarification from family and colleagues. It is, however, unclear how the news broke.

The 79-year-old veteran star actor has been away from spotlight for a few years now with reports claiming he was battling an unnamed illness. However, actress Uche Jombo recently shared a video of Jacobs at a Lancelot Imasuen movie set in Lagos.

Nollywood veteran Joke Silva celebrates 40 years in the film industry

Nigerian film industry veteran Ajoke Silva is celebrating four decades in the industry alongside her 60th birthday.

The screen and stage actress recently released stunning photos on Instagram to mark the milestone. She wrote:

“Numbers are very important to me, so this year as I turn 60, I also mark 40 years in the industry I love.”

The multiple award-winning actress has featured in over 100 productions since her career kicked off from stage. Joke landed her breakout role starring alongside Colin Firth and Nia Long in the British-Canadian film ‘The Secret Laughter of Women.’

In 2006 and 2008, the actress won the Best Actress in a Leading role and Best Actress in a Supporting role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). She has also received multiple recognitions for her contribution to arts and culture.

Silva is also one of the few veterans who made a successful transition to what has been described as the ‘new Nollywood’ era.
