I dated him because he said he was separated’ – Halima Abubakar opens up on relationship with Apostle Johnson Suleman

In a series of posts shared via her Instagram Stories on Sunday, September 18, 2022, the movie star called out the controversial pastor for allegedly paying bloggers to write demeaning stories about her.

“Every month only you. How do you sleep? You paid off the blogs, only you, God forbid. Look for lies and send it to your bloggers. They need am,” she wrote.

“But you you you JS. You bought market Sule. Emperor Sule. Allow me rest biko. Don’t fuck with me bro. Dude.”

The actress also revealed that the reason she had an affair with the pastor was that he told her he was separated. “I fuck up yes. I own my mistakes. But I won’t lie anymore. Nigga said he was separated. I didn’t meet a married man. I met a bizman with three kids. Long story, stay away from liars,” she revealed.

Abubakar has been in the news for months over her alleged relationship with the pastor.

At some point, she called out one of her colleagues, Shan George for denying not having an affair with the pastor.

Several female celebrities have been romantically linked to the pastor. However, some of these celebrities have come out to dispel the rumors.

In July, Nollywood actress Georgina Onuoha denied dating the Auchi-based pastor.

She also slammed those who have been fueling the alleged affair. “Many have been a blessing to my life for that I am grateful. I will repeat many of us are cut from different fabrics. So please keep your shit life to yourself. Don’t bring it on my street. The level of joblessness amongst some low-live scumbags is alarming,’ she wrote.

Gunners cruise, remain top of the table

Arsenal cruised past Brentford to stay top of the Premier League table heading into the international break.

Goals from William Saliba and Gabriel Jesus set them on their way in the first half and a stunner from Fabio Vieira sealed the win, as Mikel Arteta’s side responded superbly following their first setback of the season last-time out at Manchester United.

The victory means Arsenal have won six of their first seven games this season and sit atop the table on 19 points, one point clear of second-place Manchester City. Brentford have nine points and Thomas Frank’s side just weren’t at the races on Sunday.

Force PRO to Nigerians: You‘ve no right to retaliate even if a policeman slaps you

The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has said Nigerians have no right to respond if they are slapped by policemen on duty, whether in uniform of not.

Adejobi made the statement on his Twitter account after a viral video of two men confronting policemen went viral.

The incident, said to have occurred in Meiran area of Lagos State, had two civilians who claimed that the phone of one of them was seized by the policemen, dragging their rifles with them.

The spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the duo had been arrested.

Hundeyin said they would be charged to court on Monday (today).

Responding, Adejobi said confronting a policeman on duty was wrong.

The Chief Superintendent of Police tweeted: “Even if a policeman on uniform slaps a civilian, the civilian has no right to retaliate.

“More so, if he’s on uniform, it’s an act of disrespect to Nigeria to beat an officer on uniform.

“The disrespect is not to the policeman but to our nation and it’s a crime as enshrined in our criminal laws.

“So, it’s not a case of what the policeman did that led to it, but the reaction of the civilians who actually assaulted the police.

“If police assault a civilian, you report and actions will be taken to rebuke him, not to take the law into your hands.

“Let alone, it’s a matter of checking of phones, which can be easily reported and addressed.

“Now they are kept in our 5-star hotel in Lagos and will be in court on Monday.

“Are you going to visit them or send them food, or appear in court to defend them?

“Don’t support what is bad, ok.”

Reacting to attacks that trailed his initial response, Adejobi further tweeted unedited: “Whatever happens between you and that policeman will be irrelevant or immaterial the moment you beat him on un-form, bc it will be a case between you and d state or law.

Pastor Oyakhilome Foundation inaugurates 100% free school in Lagos

The Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International on Sunday inaugurated its 100 per cent free school in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State.

The free school project of the Foundation in Ibeju-Lekki is built under the auspices of the Inner City Mission for Children.

It is the fourth in Lagos State and 10th in Nigeria.

The Chief Sponsor of the project, Pastor Deola Phillips, who spoke on behalf of co-sponsors at the inauguration, said that the 100 per cent free school project was to ensure that indigent children had access to proper education.

Phillips, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Love World Incorporated, said that education remained a core focus area for the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International.

She said that in Nigeria, the estimated number of out-of-school children remained unacceptably high, as reports had it that poverty was a major reason why millions of them had never seen the four walls of a school or had dropped out of school.…

Several Nigerian artists scored nominations at the Award scheduled for December 2022. Kizz Daniel leads the Nigerian nominees with 5 nominations from his hit single ‘Buga’. Kizz was nominated for “Best Male Artiste in Western Africa”; “Song of the Year”; “Artiste of the Year”; “Best African Collaboration”; and “Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Pop”.

Closely following behind is Burna Boy, Davido, Fireboy, and Tiwa Savage who scored four nominations each.

Adesua Etomi bags doctorate degree

The movie star was awarded the honorary degree by the university for her laudable achievements in arts and culture. Adesua who is an alumna of the university was awarded a doctorate degree in arts.

Among those who attended the ceremony were her husband, Banky W and their son, Jemima Osunde and some family members.

The Nigerian movie star bagged a degree in Drama and Performance from the prestigious university in 2009. She joins the list of Nigerian celebrities who have bagged doctorate degrees over the last few years.

Some of the celebrities who have bagged doctorate degrees include Peter Okoye, dancer Kaffy, Ireti Doyle, IK Ogbonna and Alexx Ekubo.

Okoye and Kaffy bagged their degrees from Escae-Benin University, Benin Republic.

In an interview with Media Personality Ebuka Obi Uchendu on Channels Television, Carter Efe revealed that he made ‘Machala’ featuring Berri Tiga because of his love for Wizkid.

On how he decided to make music, Carter shares that he has always been into music even when he was younger.

On the inspiration behind ‘Machala’, Carter revealed that it was motivated by his love for Wizkid.

“People also call me ‘Machala’ because I love Wizkid. The song is just for Wizkid FC and myself.”

According to Carter, he didn’t expect the song to blow up when he made it and the tremendous success of the song came as a surprise.

When asked if he reached out to Wizkid at any point in the single, he revealed that he knows Wizkid isn’t the type to acknowledge such gestures and he did it solely for his love for Wizkid.

On if he intends to continue making music, Carter tells Ebuka that he loves the money his hit single has brought him and he intends to continue making music. He further revealed that he has plans to release an EP.

On ‘Machala’ getting yanked off Streaming Platforms: Carter Efe revealed that he has no idea why his song was taken off streaming platforms. He shared that he has reached out to the distribution company who told him they are working on it.

Wizkid has announced via his Instagram story that he will be releasing new music in two days time. Wizkid posted “New Music?” before following it up with “Something very special in two days.”

The post has generated excitement from fans who have been waiting for new music from the Grammy-winning artist. If the upcoming single turns out to be owned by Wizkid rather than a featured track, this will make it Wizkid’s first single since he released ‘Made In Lagos’ deluxe.

ASUU strike: Buhari told us not to sign agreement we can’t implement — Minister

The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari warned the government team involved in the negotiation with the Academic Staff Union of Universities against signing any agreement the government would not be able to implement.

The Minister said this on during a meeting with Pro-Chancellors and Vice-Chancellors of Federal Universities on Tuesday.

At the meeting held at the National Universities Commission office in Abuja, Adamu said: “In all we have been doing, our guide has been the directive of Mr President Muhammadu Buhari, namely that while the unions should be persuaded to return to work, Government should not repeat the past mistakes of accepting to sign an agreement it will be unable to implement.

“Government should not, in the guise of resolving current challenges, sow seeds for future disruptions.”

The Minister, who traced the face-off with ASUU and other unions in the university, added: “To confound matters further, the three other university non-teaching staff unions – SSANU, NASU and NAAT also declared trade disputes against the Federal Government and commenced nationwide Industrial actions a few weeks later. NAAT started its strike on March 17, 2022 while the Joint Action Committee of SSANU and NASU followed suit on March 27, 2022.

“In response to the Unions’ demands, the Federal Government reconstituted the FGN/University-based Unions 2009 Agreement Renegotiation Committee, with Emeritus Professor Nimi Briggs as Chairman on 7th March, 2022. The Committee was charged with the responsibility of concluding the ongoing Federal Government renegotiation efforts with the University-based Unions and producing appropriate solutions, workable and enduring agreements for the improvement of the Nigerian University System.

“While the Briggs Committee was busy interacting with the Unions on all the issues, a Federal Government Inter-ministerial Team, under the leadership of the Minister of Labor, Dr. Chris Ngige, was simultaneously engaging the Unions and resolving some of their minor demands, such as salary shortages and payment of arrears of the minimum wage consequential adjustments as well as payment of promotion arrears. NANS wants urgent intervention of Buhari in ASUU strike

The National Association of Nigerian Students has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in the lingering strike by Academic Staff Union of University to enable students to return to school.

The newly-elected President of NANS, Usman Barambu, made the call at a news conference on Monday in Abuja.

Barambu described as worrisome the lingering dispute between ASUU and the Federal Government, which had lasted for about seven months.

He noted that the incessant strikes had affected the academic calendar of public universities. He said: “Also, it has negatively impacted on the future of Nigerian students as a program of four years now would last for six years.”

Similarly, the Chairman, Communiqué Drafting Committee, Usman Ayuba, urged Buhari to bring on board capable hands with experience and capacity to stem the tide of insecurity in the country. Ayuba also appealed to the government to proffer workable solutions to address incessant clashes between farmers and herders across the country.

He called on the Ministry of Education to give priority attention to the sector in terms of budgetary allocation to meet the UNESCO standard and recommendation of setting aside 26 per cent of annual budget to education by developing countries.

A spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign in 2023, Senator Dino Melaye, has noted the PDP has no position to offer former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, in the party’s campaign team.

Melaye made this known in a statement on his verified Facebook page Sunday night, describing the former minister as a “political scavenger”.

 

He said, “My attention has just been drawn to a statement issued by Femi Fani-Kayode, which as usual, was an incoherent gibberish produced from his temporary relief from insanity. How can one explain his momentary consciousness to react to an interview long granted, if not that his world of reality is not in sync with the world of sound minds? His comment was at best a mixture of prevarication, lack of comprehension and a voyage in meddlesomeness and idleness.

“Truly, an idle hand and heart like that of FFK is the devil’s residence. Ordinarily, his rambling would have been ignored, but in this age of unrestricted access to the media even by unwholesome minds, care must be taken to put issues in the right context and perspective. The roller-coaster FFK is merely seeking to receive attention, having employed all forms of ingratiation to be recruited by the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, but failed.”

 

Melaye noted that Fani-Kayode had contacted Timi Frank in a bid to lobby for a position in the Atiku-Okowa campaign team.

 “To be sure, he contacted Timi Frank to help lobby for a job in the Campaign Directorate, but where is the record to help his desire? As a serial hustler around food dispensers, FFK’s misadventure into the issue of the leadership of the PDP is nothing but a subtle campaign to be noticed and rewarded by prospective paymasters.

Ice Prince accused of assaulting policeman, for arraignment today

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested popular musician, Ice Prince Zamani, for allegedly abducting and harassing a policeman.

According to available information, he was driving at about 3am on Friday (today) when he was stopped by policemen.

Zamani was said to have been questioned about driving a car without a number plate.

He was said to have agreed to be taken to a police station thereafter.

But on the way, he was accused of abducting, assaulting and threatening to throw the policeman taking him to the station into a river.

The spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the development, said Zamani has been arrested. Hundeyin said: “He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.”

Bauchi residents express delight over resumption of intercity rail service

Some residents of Bauchi metropolis have expressed joy over the resumption of intercity rail service in Bauchi and environs.

A cross section of the residents who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in separate interviews in Bauchi, commended the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) for the feat achieved.

They said the gesture would enhance transportation as well as encourage social and economic development of the state.

NAN reports that the NRC through its North-East District office on Monday unveiled the rehabilitated five kilometer rail line linking Bauchi to Ink community along Bauchi-Gombe Expressway.

The Corporation suspended rail services in the past 10 years due to Boko Haram insurgency and vandalism of its facilities in the state.

A resident, Michael Habu, said the resumption of the rail service would ease transportation between the Bauchi metropolis and the adjourning communities.

“With the resumption of the rail service, I will be going to Bauchi by train for my errand,” he said.

Grace Audu, a trader, said that life would be easier with the resumption of rail services in the area.

She noted that more people would prefer the train as against commercial tricycle riders or bike riders, adding that “rail ticket are cheaper compared to exorbitant transport fares”.

Another resident, Aliyu Makaniki said commercial activities hitherto closed would resume at the train station.

He said the rail service would also promote economic growth and transform the lives of many residents who rely on railway related activities.

He called on the NRC to improve the quality of services provided by the railway authorities, considering its importance to social and economic development of the state and country at large.

Another resident, Mudi Sagir, who lauded the gesture, said it would expose children who don’t know much about train to its operations.

The movie star made this known while reacting to a post shared on Instagram by popular On-Air personality, Daddy Freeze. Daddy Freeze had taken to his IG page on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, where he categorized the presidential hopeful’s supporters into three categories.

“Peter Obi supporters can be classified into 3 main groups: 1: Obidients: Amazing guys who understand his philosophy and support him passionately. 2: Zombidients: These ones just dey follow Obi cluelessly with their eyes closed as the name suggests,” he wrote.

“3: Obidiots: A coagulation of Louts and touts lurking online and offline, ready to jump and attack anyone who doesn’t support Obi. Which of these do you fall into? ~FRZ.”

Inyama then took to the comment section of the post where she blasted the supporters of the politician.

Obi’s candidacy has been warmly received in many quarters, especially by some of your favorite celebrities.

Since the election season began, several Nigerian celebrities have been vocal about not just their choices but also about citizens’ participation in the forthcoming elections.

Nigerians detained at Dubai Airport, passports seized

Some Nigerians who travelled to the United Arab Emirates have been detained at the Dubai International Airport and their passports seized, Vanguard Newspaper is reporting.

According to the highly credible newspaper, some of the Nigerians were kept at the airport by the authorities.

It said few others were seen demanding answers after their passports were seized without explanation in a video.

Others are seen sitting in an empty area as they waited to know their fate.

One of the persons who shared the video revealed that her sister later picked her up from Immigration after a “tedious process” but that other Nigerians who didn’t have anyone in the country were not released.

In the video, one of the officials at the airport was heard telling some of the Nigerians involved to leave the area where they were.

The male among them walked away after his protest.

He told the official that the United Nations will frown at such development after he had paid for and was issued with the UAE visa.

A lady’s voice was heard in the video calling for assistance from the Nigerian authorities over their plight.…
