I’m thinking of dropping an EP, ‘Carter Efe’ reveals

In an interview with Media Personality Ebuka Obi Uchendu on Channels TelevisionCarter Efe revealed that he made ‘Machala’ featuring Berri Tiga because of his love for Wizkid.

On how he decided to make music, Carter shares that he has always been into music even when he was younger.

On the inspiration behind ‘Machala’, Carter revealed that it was motivated by his love for Wizkid.

“People also call me ‘Machala’ because I love Wizkid. The song is just for Wizkid FC and myself.”

According to Carter, he didn’t expect the song to blow up when he made it and the tremendous success of the song came as a surprise.

When asked if he reached out to Wizkid at any point in the single, he revealed that he knows Wizkid isn’t the type to acknowledge such gestures and he did it solely for his love for Wizkid.

On if he intends to continue making music, Carter tells Ebuka that he loves the money his hit single has brought him and he intends to continue making music. He further revealed that he has plans to release an EP.

On ‘Machala’ getting yanked off Streaming Platforms: Carter Efe revealed that he has no idea why his song was taken off streaming platforms. He shared that he has reached out to the distribution company who told him they are working on it.

Pulse Music Desk has reached out to Carter Efe and Guru Files Media who distributed the song. However, both parties are yet to give any comments on the reason the song was taken off streaming platforms.

Rema says 6lack, AJ Tracey and Mahalia will feature on his upcoming debut album

On September 28, 2021, MAVIN Recording artist appeared on Capital Xtra with Manny Norte, where he spoke about cutting his air and his upcoming debut album, Raves and Roses.

When Norte asked him about the album, Rema says, “I would say it’s done… It’s done. I listen to my records more than I listen to other things and everyday, I have something to add. Sometimes I mix my songs like five to seven times because when it’s out, it’s out.

Rema also adds that stars like 6lack, Mahalia, AJ Tracey and some more will be on the album.

On July 1, 2021, Nigerian star, Rema announced the title of his new album as he celebrated a Spotify milestone.

All of this came via a Tweet which reads, “Album – Raves and Roses.” He also tweet that, “Just did 200 Million streams on @Spotify without an Album, I’m spoiling myself today cause I deserve it.

This comes off the back of his latest single, ‘Soundgasm’ – his third of 2021, just as he continues to excel on features across the world.

He also released three EPs in his career; Rema EPRema Freestyles EP and Bad Commando EP.

Tems releases tracklist for upcoming EP

On September 14, 2021, Nigerian singer, Tems released the tracklist to her upcoming 5-track EP, ‘IF ORANGE WAS A PLACE. Four tracks on the EP are produced by GuiltyBeatz while the other was produced by Jonah Christian. All tracks are mixed and mastered by superproducer, Spax. American singer, Brent Faiyaz is the only featured artist on the EP.

Tiwa Savage shares video of Brandy crying after recording ‘Somebody’s Son’

On August 22, 2021, Nigerian superstar, Tiwa Savage shared a video of legendary American singer, Brandy crying after she recorded her verse on ‘Somebody’s Son.

The record, which documents a woman’s yearning for love and the warmth of romance after enduring years of heartbreak aligns with the heartache that Brandy and Tiwa Savage have both suffered in their personal lives. On the song, Brandy delivered in Yoruba and sang with panache, as expected.

During a recent chat with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, Savage revealed that Brandy is her idol, “Brandy is literally the reason why I started singing, literally. As a kid, just listening to I Want To Be Down, every interview I’ve ever had, she’s my favorite, my all time, my mentor, everything. And I’ve been trying to work with her for years. It was a dream of mine.

“And when it happened this time, it’s not even just music, we connected like sisters. She’s someone that I speak to literally every other day. It’s beyond my expectation.”
