Kizz Daniel is set to perform at the 2022 World Cup

A few months ago, Kizz Daniel tweeted that he would love to perform his hit single ‘Buga’ at the World Cup. It will appear that the universe has granted Kizz Daniel’s request as he is now set to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2022 FIFA world cup in Qatar.

Kizz has enjoyed a successful 2022 with his single ‘Buga’ becoming one of the biggest singles out of the continent. After embarking on a successful ‘Afroclassic Tour’ of the UK, US, Canada, and select African countries, Kizz Daniel is set to take ‘Buga’ to the biggest event in an event in competitive sport.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup is set to hold in Qatar from Sunday, 20 Nov to Sunday, 18 Dec 2022. Fans will be excited at the news of getting to see Nigerian artists perform at the World in what is another high point for Afrobeats.

EMPIRE announces Africa compilation album, ‘Where We Come From (V0L.1)’

Set to highlight the rising talent from their ever-growing roster on the continent, Where We Come From (Vol. 1), is a testament to Africa’s ability to foster unity through music. “Working on this album has been one of the highlights of my career,” Bnxn fka Buju said. “I feel blessed to have been around so much talent, drive, and creativity all in the same room. This album is about showcasing the best that Africa has to offer, and we’ve done that.”

The compilation project is a body of work created during the writing camp at EMPIRE’s headquarters in San Francisco directly following their first showcase “The New Africa” during the second night of SXSW in March. Kizz Daniel, Burna Boy, Davido, Tiwa Savage lead Nigerian nominees for AFRIMA 2022 [See Full List]

Several Nigerian artists scored nominations at the Award scheduled for December 2022. Kizz Daniel leads the Nigerian nominees with 5 nominations from his hit single ‘Buga’. Kizz was nominated for “Best Male Artiste in Western Africa”; “Song of the Year”; “Artiste of the Year”; “Best African Collaboration”; and “Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Pop”.

Closely following behind is Burna Boy, Davido, Fireboy, and Tiwa Savage who scored four nominations each.

Burna Boy is nominated for “Best Male Artiste in Western Africa”; “Song of the Year”; “Album of the Year”, and “Artiste of the Year”.

Davido was nominated for “Best African Collaboration”, “Best Artist, Duo or Group in African Electro, “Best Artist Duo or Group in African Pop”, and “Best Male Artist in African Inspirational Music”.

Fireboy got nominations for “Best Male Artiste in Western Africa”; “Song of the Year”; “Artiste of the Year”, and “Best African Collaboration”.

Tiwa Savage earned four nominations for “Best Female Artiste in Western Africa”; “Artiste of the Year”; “Best African Collaboration”, and “Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African RnB/Soul”.

Other Nigerian artists with multiple nominations include CKay, Rema, Pheelz, and Asake.

The public voting portal for the 2022 AFRIMA edition would be live on Sunday, 25th September, 2022, at 12:00pm CAT. African music lovers within the continent, and around the world, can visit the official website to vote.

Voting closes at 12.00 (CAT), December 10, 2022, before the AFRIMA main awards ceremony.

In the latest leg of his tour, the Afrobeats megastar thrilled over 80,000 energetic fans on Sunday in Cotonou, Benin Republic.

The Plage De Fidrosse park in Benin Republic’s capital, Cotonou played host to the massively talented artist who didn’t stand on ceremony when he thrilled over 80,000 excited fans who, amid a lockdown and heavy traffic in the city, pulled out all the stops to listen to Kizz Daniel perform the biggest song on the continent.

Kizz thrilled the fans with a choice selection of some of his classic hits including ‘Woju’, ‘Laye’, ‘Lie’, ‘Pour Me Water’, ‘Buga’ and so many more.

On December 7, 2021, TikTok unveiled #YearOnTikTok 2021 in celebration of 2021-of-a-kind, which has been made possible by entertainment driven by its community. This year-end celebration recognizes talent and looks back on creativity, trends, creators, movements, and moments that made 2021 one to remember in Nigeria.

Here are the top 10 Nigerian songs of the week: Kizz Daniel’s ‘Lie’ remains at No. 1 for fourth week

Kizz Daniel’s “Lie” stays at No. 1 for a fourth consecutive week on the TurnTable Top 50

Also, Fireboy DML’s “Peru” rises to No. 3 on this week’s Top 50 to become the artiste’s highest charting song.

Additionally, Ayra Starr’s “Bloody Samaritan” ascends to No. 5 on the chart to become the artiste’s second top five entry.

The Top 50 blends all-genre freemium streaming (Top Streaming Chart), radio airplay (Top Airplay Chart) and TV airplay (TV Top Songs Chart) in Nigeria. All charts will be dated and updated on Mondays, this week’s chart will be revealed on Monday, September 6, 2021

‘God blessed me with triplets, I lost one of them 4 days after’ – Kizz Daniel

Recall the singer announced the arrival of his twins back in May.

In a post shared via his Instagram page on Thursday, July 15, 2021, the music star said he welcomed three children but lost one of the boys four days after they were born.

“God blessed me with 3 boys a while back 🙏🏽 JAMAL, JALIL and JELANI (triplets). 4 days after I lost JAMAL. Nevertheless, I made a promise to him that I’ll be the best father in the whole galaxy to his brothers,” he wrote.

He went on to share documents of the properties he bought for his son, Jelani and Jalil.
