BBNaija 2021: Kayvee withdraws from ‘Shine Ya Eye’ season

‘Shine Ya Eye’ housemate, Kayvee has withdrawn from the show barely two weeks after joining alongside JMK, Michael and Queen. According to reports, Kayvee was advised to withdraw from the game due to his recent struggle with mental health.

Confirming his exit, a statement on Big Brother Naija’s official Instagram reads: “Kayvee, one of the housemates in the Big Brother Naija ‘Shine Ya Eye’ Season, has been exited from the House on medical grounds.

“Prior to this, he had a consultation with Big Brother and the on-site medical team, where it was decided that he had to leave the house for a more thorough medical investigation. MultiChoice and the show producers, are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all housemates in the Big Brother house at all times.”

Recall the housemates called Big Brother’s attention to Kayvee’s sudden display of behavior suggesting mental health challenges.

Reacting to the latest development, Kayvee’s social media handler requested fan support as the photographer figures his next move.

“The KayVee we know isn’t what people are painting him to be. His friends and family will never allow him to go into the house if he had a mental health issue. KayVee is big on mental health and positive vibes, and you could see that from when he entered the house,” the post read.

“What is happening in the house is simply a reaction to him being unwelcomed. He was full of life when he got into the house, and something has triggered this phase. This has caused him to withdraw into his shell to rebuild his energy and vibe…”

BBNaija 2021: Big Brother announces nomination free week, orders Maria to keep a secret

The show has gotten even more interesting with Big Brother’s game changing plot twist. As opposed to the anticipated nomination games, Biggie shocked Head of House Maria with a new order.

Shortly after nominating Boma as her deputy head of house, Maria was invited to the diary room and informed that there will be no evictions this Sunday. However, the Head of House has to sell a lie to the housemates convincing them that she will be tasked to use a scoring system to rank the housemates for the week. Two housemates who least impress her will be evicted come Sunday.

While the charade will last for the week, it is important to note that there will be no evictions or public voting this Sunday. Big Brother also warned of dire consequences if Maria reveals the plot twist to the housemates and a reward if she does not.

BBNaija 2021: Whitemoney found out I was the wild card from a chaperone – Pere

Pere has explained the reason for his seemingly irrational targeting of co-housemate Whitemoney.

During a conversation organized by HOH Maria to mediate the housemates following their heated argument, Pere accused Whitemoney of getting information that he was a wildcard from one of the show’s crew who acted as Whitemoney’s chaperone.

He explained that this influenced his beef with Whitemoney and led to last week’s strategic move.

This will not be the first time Pere has accused Whitemoney of being privy to exclusive information before the season commenced. He has repeatedly claimed to have proof of this ignoring the possible repercussions.

The housemates nearly got to fisticuffs early Tuesday morning after Pere pulled his belt during a confrontation with Whitemoney. Whitemoney and other housemates perceived his action to be an intimidation tactic.

Lil Wayne reveals how he attempted suicide at age 12

American rapper Dwayne Carter Jr also known as Lil Wayne has revealed how he attempted suicide at the age of 12.

The music star made this known while talking about mental health with Emmanuel Acho on Sunday’s episode of ‘Uncomfortable Conversations.’

Wayne said he struggled for two years of his adolescence until his mother learned he had been skipping school.

He said he attempted to take his own life at just 12 years old because he thought his mum would rebuke him from rapping.

He initially held the gun to his head but got scared and instead decided to shoot himself in the chest, aiming for his heart.

“I didn’t feel a thing,” he recalled.

The rapper’s attempt at killing himself changed his family’s perception of his musical aspirations.

We have 28 checkpoints on Katsina-Jibia Road, but only five legal — Customs

Retired Colonel Hameed Ali, the Comptroller-General, Nigeria Customs Service, has ordered the immediate removal of all illegal checkpoints along Katsina-Jibia Road.

Ali gave the order when he paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmuminu Kabir, on Monday.

The CG, represented by ACG Uba Mohammed, Zonal Coordinator, Zone B, Kaduna, said the Service had approved only five checkpoint along the Katsina-Jibia Road.

The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that the ACG had in a similar visit to Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State disclosed that there were about 28 checkpoints along the road. The ACG said: “On behalf of the CG, I have ordered for the immediate removal of all checkpoints along the road, except the approved five.

“Henceforth, only five checkpoints should remain along Katsina-Jibia Road.

“The police operatives along the same route should also look into the issue.

“Our visit to the state is to condole the state government, the Katsina Emirate Council and the people of Jibia Local Government Council over the recent accident involving our border drill operatives.

“This visit is occasioned by the ugly incident of August 9, 2021 where a near crisis was averted, resulting from an unforeseen vehicular accident, an incident which claimed lives and incapacitated a host of others.

“Unfortunately, that mishap, though an operational hazard, should have been averted with the deployment of the requisite safeguards.”

Mohammed said the CG had set up a committee to investigate the cause of the incident, adding that the Service would also take responsibility for the medical bills of those wounded in the accident.

While condoling the Emir, Ali reiterated the Service’s readiness to adopt proactive measures to forestall future occurrence of the incident.

In his response, the Emir said the incident, which claimed many lives, was unforgettable as it had been happening for a very long time.

Kabir said: “I always have sleepless nights over this issue and that of banditry in our communities.

“I believe that lack of proper information dissemination between the public and the security operatives is one …

Jos Killings: Only justice can stop reprisals — MURIC

The Islamic human rights organization, Muslim Rights Concern has again demanded stiff punishment according to the law for the killing of 23 Muslim travelers on August 14, 2021.

The group insisted that reprisal killings will continue unless justice is swiftly and effectively served.

MURIC stated this on Tuesday in a statement issued by its Director and Founder, Prof. Ishaq Akintola.

The statement said: “Once again we are constrained to reiterate our strong condemnation of the brutal killing of Muslim travellers which occurred on Saturday, 14th August, 2021 at Rukuba, Jos, the Plateau State capital. The attack was carried out by Irigwe Christians mourning their lost ones. That attack was wicked, callous and animalistic. “However, we are of the opinion that killing with impunity will not stop unless justice is swiftly and effectively served. A situation where every brutal killing is anchored on a previous attack is Bohemian and unacceptable. It smirks of a society whose norms, values and law enforcement machinery has totally broken down. This must not be allowed to happen.

“This cycle of reprisal killings can be traced back to the Zango-Kataf crisis of 1992. Subsequent killings would have been averted if the reports and recommendations of the Okadigbo panel had been implemented. But criminal elements continue to hide under the canopies of religion and ethnicity to unleash mayhem on innocent people because of the laxity in the system.

“What we need therefore is systemic change. State governments must stop providing cover for criminals. This aptly applies to the situation in Plateau State today as we find Governor Lalong giving a ludicrous excuse to extenuate the sadistic killing of innocent and unarmed Muslim travelers. Unfortunately this is not the first time Lalong will aid and abet the killing of Muslims.

“We therefore reiterate our demand that the investigations into this latest massacre must be handled by the Federal Government. For this reason, we commend the strong intervention of the Inspector General of Police and the Nigerian Army in the restoration of normalcy in Jos and its environs. We …

‘Submission does not mean a woman must lower her voice’ – Kaffy

Nigerian choreographer Kafayat Shafau popularly known as Kaffy has shared her thoughts about submission in marriage.

The Guinness world record holder made her thoughts known via her Instagram page on Saturday, August 14, 2021, while reacting to a post about submission in marriages.

“The word “Submission”, if it were a human being, would have committed suicide because of the falsehood attached to how it’s name has been used. First of all the word does not mean one is a slave to another nor does it mean a woman must lower her voice, essence and purpose just because she is in the presence of a man,” she wrote.

“Submission here to me (my point of view) is more of being in agreement with the thought, purpose, assignment and essence a man carries as this would gravely affect the amount of selfless, sacrifice and trust a woman needs to have to become the Favour God has ordained her to be to the man.”

“And don’t forget every woman carrying Favour is a woman with a dream and essence and assignment too. She MUST only submit to one who would obtain what she carries in her that God wants to manifest into the world.”

“Man being a Lord, Custodian or asked to LOVE his wife also comes from a place of nurturing, developing, enduring, learning, and so many more Christ-like qualities. And not just emotional and financial provision. The world needs to be a better place and it takes people who understand their assignment and purpose on earth.”

American reality TV star Kim Kardashian has revealed how her estranged husband, Kanye West helped her not be a ‘people pleaser. The mother of four made this known on the “We are supported by …” podcast.

“I got to a point — and maybe [it was] being in a relationship with Kanye for a decade, someone that absolutely didn’t care about likeability factor or what any of perception of him was as long as he was true to himself — that taught me so much in the best way of just being me and living in the moment,” she told the hosts. “You don’t have to please everyone as long as I’m myself and as long as I’m doing it the way that I want to do … like you have one life and you’re living it for you.”
