The Senator representing Kogi West senatorial district, who appears to be a lover of all things BBNaija , hosted Big Brother Naija ex housemates, Teddy A and BamBam in his Abuja home yesterday.

An excited Dino shared a photo of himself with the BBNaija ex-housemates and gushed;

“Teddy A and Bambam of Big Brother at my krip. Great guys”

Naira appreciates to N359.81/$ in I&E window

The Naira, yesterday, appreciated for the first time this week by 57 kobo to N359.81 per dollar in the Investors and Exporters (I&E) window of the foreign exchange market. Data from the Financial Market Dealers Quote (FMDQ) showed that the indicative exchange rate for the I&E also known as   Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange,  NAFEX, dropped to N359.81 per dollar, yesterday, from N360.38 per dollar on Tuesday, translating to 57 kobo gain in the naira. The appreciation was in spite of the 28 percent decrease in the volume of dollars traded in the I&E window. The turnover in the window yesterday dropped to $242.92 million from $339.13 million recorded on Tuesday.…

How Danish Husband Killed Alizee, Poisoned Daughter – Police Tell Court

A Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos on Wednesday remanded a Danish national, Peter Nielsen, who was suspected of killing his wife, Zainab Ali- Nielsen and their three-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Petra.

Chief Magistrate Kikelomo Ayeye remanded Nielsen, 53, in Ikoyi Prison, following an application by the police. Nielsen was docked on a two-count charge of unlawful killing.

Nielsen’s plea was not taken. He was represented by Frank Udoka Amah. Prosecuting counsel, Effiong Asuquo, tendered a three-page application, containing 15 grounds for Nielsen’s remand in prison.

He said:

“There is overwhelming forensic evidence linking the defendant to the assault and murder of his wife and daughter. Investigation has also shown that the defendant was habitually violent to his late wife, Zainab.”

According to Asuquo, a fight broke out between the couple in their flat at about 3:00 a.m. on that fateful day. Nielsen was allegedly seen fighting and hitting the deceased’s head on a wall by her two relations, Mimi, 11, and Faith, 13 who lived with them.

She died from injuries sustained from the assault. The prosecutor alleged that Nielsen then poisoned Petra before dragging her body into the kitchen.

Asuquo said:

“He took the lifeless little girl and put her under the mother’s body and then put on gas stove burners in the kitchen so that it will be believed that the wife and daughter were suffocated to death by the cooking gas.

It is in the national interest that the suspect remain in prison pending legal advice and his arraignment and trial.”

Chief Magistrate Ayeye upheld his prayer. She remanded Nielsen in prison and adjourned the case till May 8 for the DPP’s advice…

I Hold No Grudges Against Nina – Collins, Nina’s Boyfriend

Collins, boyfriend to Big Brother Naija 2018 housemate, Nina, has spoken on the recent rift between her and fellow housemate, Miracle.
Miracle and Nina had confessed love for each other in show but have been facing challenges after Ebuka, the show host, demanded to know the strength of their relationship.
Following the situation, Nina had feared she could lose both Miracle and Collins after the show.
And tweets have been coming out suggesting that Collins was angry with Nina.
But Collins, last night, cried out that someone had been impersonating him on twitter. He said he had no issues with his girlfriend, Nina.
The account, @uno_collins has for the past few days been slamming Nina on the platform.
Collins took to his Instagram to say he hold no grudges against Nina.
He wrote;
“Hello everybody…someone has been impersonating me on twitter…saying bad things about Nina…I bear no grudges for her.
This not me on Twitter… Its a fake account
This is the guy behind the fake twitter account…he was using this handle @Collins_uno,he goes by this handle now @Collins_neo..He is an imposter,an impersonator…that’s not me.”

Nina And Miracles Finally Reconcile

Looks like big brother niaja housemates Miracle and his in-house lover have finally found some common ground after their relationship almost hit the rocks recently.
Recall that the entire drama started on Sunday during the live eviction show where she refereed to Miracle as just her best-friend while answering a question from show host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, which did not go down well with him.
Nina later declared with tears in her eyes that she hates Miracle and she is done with the relationship after he told her not to call him best-friend in public and boo in private.
Well, After a long discussion between Miracle and Nina , they both agreed to reconcile thanks to the force applied on them by the three council elders in house ( Alex, Tobi and Anto)

BBNaija 2018: Alex, Nina and Tobi make it to the Finals

 

Big Brother Naija Housemate, Alex emerged Head of House for the first time ever during the HOH challenge on yesterday, Monday.
Alex won the Head of house after two sets of games of chance.
Housemates were paired and instructed to burst balloons while being blind folded..
At the end of the game, Nina, Cee-c, Lolu, Miracle, Tobi and Alex qualified for the final game.
For the final game, housemates were blind folded and told to pick ”BBnaira” in a boot.
Alex had the highest amount, which made her the Head of house. She then subsequently picked a chance card which automatically saved Nina the housemate who came third place in the challenge.
She was also told to nominate one housemate to be saved from eviction and she choose Tobi.
..and in an interesting turn of events, Housemates, Alex, Nina and Tobi have all made it to the finals.
Cee-C, Lolu, Anto, Miracle and Khloe are now up for eviction on Sunday.

Ebuka Has Damaged my relationship with Miracle – Nina

Big Brother Naija 2018 housemate, Nina has lamented the question put to her by Ebuka. She said her relationship with Miracle was now in serious confusion as a result of the said question.
Nina now fears she may lose both Collins and Miracle, her two boyfriends, with the way she responded to Ebuka.
Ebuka had asked her how strong her relationship with Miracle was and if it would continue outside the show.
Ebuka further insisted to know if she could call Miracle her boyfriend. Responding, Nina refused to call Miracle her boyfriend, but rather said he was “My best friend. My everything.”
On Tuesday, she revealed to fellow housemate, Alex that Miracle has been angry with her because of her response to Ebuka.
She further explained to Alex that, “I could not call Miracle my boyfriend because I did not want to disrespect Collins. But now I feel bad.
“I would have told Ebuka Miracle was my boyfriend and that I love him.
“I wish Ebuka would ask me same question next Sunday so that I’ll correct myself.”
In the reality show, Miracle and Nina had shared kisses, had showers together and at least. cuddle every night, with rumours of even actual sex.
Alex, however, advised Nina to keep her relationship to herself and stop giving people what to talk about.
She said, “When you are asked about your relationship with Miracle, reply from your heart. Tell them what you want to tell them.”
Alex told her she should not be fast in responding to such questions because she doesn’t know what may happen outside the show. She added that, “It may be that you have no relationship again outside. And you never can tell if you and Miracle would continue.”

“At the age of 5, I Was Molested by My Housemaid” Lolu

Big Brother Naija housemate, Lolu during his diary section this night revealed to Big Brother that he was molested at the age of 5 by their housemaid and it went out on for four years.
According to him, the housemaid subjected him to lots of punishments whenever he refused to comply with her orders.
He said he couldn’t report all that was happening to his mother because she had so much she was dealing with at that time. But he disclosed that he only got the courage to speak about it to his younger sister at the age 21.
Lolu who promised to share more details at his next diary section told Big Brother that he decided to share his story to inspire the confidence of people who are victims of child molestation to come out and speak about it.

Mark Zuckerberg Says he’s sorry and that Facebook should have done better

Facebook Inc Chief Executive, Mark Zuckerberg, told Congress on Monday that the social media network should have done more to prevent itself and its members’ data being misused and offered a broad apology to lawmakers.

His conciliatory tone precedes two days of Congressional hearings where Zuckerberg is set to answer questions about Facebook user data being improperly appropriated by a political consultancy and the role the network played in the U.S. 2016 election.

“We didn’t take a broad enough view of our responsibility, and that was a big mistake,” he said in remarks released by the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee on Monday.

“It was my mistake, and I’m sorry. I started Facebook, I run it, and I’m responsible for what happens here.”

Surrounded by tight security wearing dark suit and a purple tie rather than his trademark hoodie, Zuckerberg was meeting with lawmakers on Capitol Hill on Monday ahead of his scheduled appearance before two Congressional committees on Tuesday and Wednesday.

He did not respond to questions as he entered and left a meeting with Bill Nelson, the top Democrat on the Senate Commerce Committee.

He is expected to meet John Thune, the Commerce Committee’s Republican chairman, later in the day, among others.

Top of the agenda in the forthcoming hearings will be Facebook’s admission that the personal information of up to 87 million users, mostly in the United States, may have been improperly shared with political consultancy Cambridge Analytica.

But lawmakers are also expected to press him on a range of issues, including the 2016 election.

“It’s clear now that we didn’t do enough to prevent these tools from being used for harm…” his testimony continued.

“That goes for fake news, foreign interference in elections, and hate speech, as well as developers and data privacy.”

Facebook, which has 2.1 billion monthly active users worldwide, said on Sunday it plans to begin on Monday telling users whose data, may have been shared with Cambridge Analytica.

The company’s data practices are under investigation by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.…

Facebook CEO Zuckerberg to testify before Congress April 11

Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg will testify in Congress next week over the hijacking of users’ personal data by political consultancy Cambridge Analytica, a House committee announced Wednesday.

Zuckerberg The hearing, set for 10 am April 11 before the House Energy and Commerce Committee, aims to “shed light on critical consumer data privacy issues and help all Americans better understand what happens to their personal information online,” committee chairman Greg Walden and ranking Democrat Frank Pallone said in a statement.

“We appreciate Mr. Zuckerberg’s willingness to testify before the committee, and we look forward to him answering our questions.” Zuckerberg will likely face multiple congressional hearings as his social media giant battles a firestorm set off by the Cambridge Analytica scandal.

The British consulting firm, which was hired by Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, acquired data of 50 million Facebook users to create psychological profiles that could be used to influence US voters. Zuckerberg also has been invited to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee on April 10, alongside Google chief Sundar Pichai and Twitter head Jack Dorsey.

His participation is yet unconfirmed but Senator Dianne Feinstein told the San Francisco Chronicle Zuckerberg had agreed to attend that hearing.…

Former England and Chelsea footballer Ray Wilkins dies aged 61 in hospital after suffering heart attack

Wilkins was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting, London last week after suffering a cardiac arrest and was placed in an induced coma.

A statement issued by St George’s Hospital on behalf of Wilkins’ family read: ‘It is with great sadness we announce that Raymond Colin Wilkins passed away this morning.

‘We would like to thank St George’s staff for the amazing work they have done to care for our beloved Ray.

‘We would also like to say thank you for the many goodwill messages we have received from Ray’s friends, colleagues, and members of the public.

‘Ray leaves behind his loving wife, Jackie, daughter Jade, son Ross, and his beautiful grandchildren, Oliver, Frankie, Ava, Freddie, Jake and Archie.

‘We are asking for privacy at this very difficult time.’

Wilkins, who has bravely battled poor health including ulcerative colitis over the last few years, was given the all clear after a double heart bypass operation last July.

Two years ago he checked into the Priory Hospital in Woking for a five-week rehabilitation programme after being banned from driving for four years for drink-driving.

Yet the popular former Chelsea, Manchester United and AC Milan midfielder continued to work in the media on a regular basis and was held in the highest regard by everyone in football.

Born in Hillingdon, Wilkins came through the ranks at his boyhood club Chelsea and made his first-team debut against Norwich City at the age of 17 in 1973…

Winnie Mandela Dies At 81

Winnie Mandela, former wife of Nelson Mandela, South African hero, has died aged 81.

Zodwa Zwane‚ her personal assistant, confirmed this on Monday afternoon.

“It is with profound sadness that we inform the public that Mrs Winnie Madikizela-Mandela passed away at the Netcare Milpark Hospital‚ Johannesburg‚ South Africa on Monday, April 2‚ 2018,” he said in a statement.

She died after a long illness‚ for which she had been in and out of hospital since the start of the year.

“She succumbed peacefully in the early hours of Monday afternoon surrounded by her family and loved ones,” her family said in a statement.

Born in Bizana in the Eastern Cape in 1936‚ she moved to Johannesburg to study social work after matriculating.

She met her husband in 1957 and they were married a year later. They had two children together.

The deceased was actively involved in the anti-apartheid struggle of her ex-husband, who died five years ago.…
