Comedian Michael Blackson proposes to girlfriend during radio show

The actor who was a guest at the popular American radio show, The Breakfast Club, went down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend after, show host Charlamagne asked if he would propose to her towards the end of the interview.

Sharing why he decided that this was finally the woman he wanted to be with for the rest of her life, the comedian expressed that her loyalty was the thing that really made him want to pop the question.

Rada, a realtor later took to her Instagram page where she expressed shock at the proposal. “I had no idea this was going to happen….I thought he was going to ask me about side beeches…. I ate my vegetables for the day and said yes to karats 🥕,” she wrote.

Game of Thrones prequel production paused due to Covid-19

A positive Covid-19 test has reportedly forced the pausing of ‘Game of Thrones’ anticipated prequel ‘House of the Dragon’.

According to Deadline, a production member tested positive for the novel virus during one of the routine testing which is in compliance with industry guidelines. The delay will last for two days while the infected crew goes into quarantine.

The pause in production due to Covid-19 will not be the first as recently, Netflix ordered an indefinite pause on the production of the second season of ‘Bridgerton’ following its second recorded positive case.

Production for ‘House of the Dragon’ kicked off in April following months of development. The prequel created by George R.R. Martin, Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, is set 300 years before the events of ‘Game of Thrones’ and centers on the House Targaryen

Top 50 Nigerian songs of 2021: Omah Lay’s ‘Understand’ debuts at No. 1

Omah Lay’s “Understand” debut at No. 1 on this week’s Turn Table Top 50, becoming the artiste’s third entry to reach the summit of the chart.

AV’s “Big Thug Boys” moves to No. 5 on the chart as it continues to rise in popularity in the country.

Adekunle Gold’s “Sinner” with Lucky Daye launches at No. 7.

The Top 50 blends all-genre freemium streaming (Top Streaming Chart), radio airplay (Top Airplay Chart) and TV airplay (TV Top Songs Chart) in Nigeria. All charts will be dated and updated on Mondays, this week’s chart will be revealed on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 (due to delay in chart compilation)

“Understand” tallied 46.9 million in radio airplay impressions and 3.04 million equivalent streams during the tracking week (July 9 – July 15). It is Omah Lay’s third No. 1 song on the Turn Table Top 50 joining “Godly” and “Forever (Remix).”

“Understand” is produced by Tempoe, who becomes the first producer to reach the summit of the chart on multiple occasions; Tempoe also produced the 11-week No. 1 “Godly.”

In addition, “Understand” sets a new record of the biggest chart points in a week making it the most popular song ever in a single week.

Ladipoe & Buju’s “Feeling” slides to No. 2 after topping the chart for four non-consecutive weeks. The 47.4 million in radio reach that “Feeling” drew during the tracking week is enough to keep it at No. 1 on the radio chart for an eighth week.

Olamide’s “Rock” is down to No. 3 after spending three weeks at No. 1. Rema’s “Soundgasm” retreats to 3-4.

AV’s “Big Thug Boys” jumps 10-5; it tallied 24.4 million in radio reach (up 23.3%) and 1.28 million equivalent streams (up 16.4%.

Kanye West returns to Instagram wearing necklaces with his kids’ names

The billionaire rapper returned to the app on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, ahead of the release of his highly anticipated new album, “Donda.”

He posted a series of close-up photos of the Cuban link necklaces, with North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm’s monikers written out in Gothic lettering.

On his return, his fan base on the platform hit 5.7 million. However, he is only following one person on the app, Kim Kardashian.

It would be recalled that the father of four unfollowed all his estranged wife’s family member on Twitter a few months ago.

Dr Dre ordered to pay ex-wife Nicole Young N151M monthly in spousal support

The billionaire music executive is to do that or take the option of paying $3.5M annually to Nicole until she remarries.

According to Radar, the superior court judge’s decision is only temporary until a final decision is reached.

“[Dre] is ordered to pay to the [Nicole] spousal support in the sum of $293,306.00 per month, payable on the first of each month, commencing August 1, 2021,” Dre will pay a total of $3,519,672 per year until Nicole remarries or “enters into a new domestic partnership,” the court document obtained by Radar read.

The judge also ordered Dre to keep paying for Nicole’s health insurance.

Dre and Nicole have continued to fight legally about their prenup.

Nicole has appealed for the prenup to be nullified, but Dre has disagreed with that arrangement.

Young has also alleged that Dre said he wouldn’t carry out the prenup, which he has said, isn’t true.

Nicole filed for divorce from the millionaire rapper back in 2020. She cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for her split from the hip-hop mogul.

The couple got married in 1996 and are blessed with two adult children, Truce and Truly.

Young was formerly married to NBA player, Sedale Threatt, and is a trained lawyer.

Rapper Zoro demands the release of pro-Biafran activist Nnamdi Kanu

Kanu is a Nigerian pro-Biafra political activist, who has been under the custody of the Nigerian government for weeks now.

In a post shared via his Instagram on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, the music star demanded that the activist be released.

“There’s a lot I’d love to say, first is I’d love if you listen to your conscience only if it’s well-fed shaa. #freemazinnamdikanu,” he wrote.

First arrested on October 14, 2015, Kanu jumped bail and fled Nigeria in 2017 after the invasion of his home in Abia State, southeastern Nigeria.

“Couldn’t bring myself to do this but what can we do. Rest well. Till we meet again my dear friend and brother. Still so unreal. Will never stop celebrating u. I promise u your fam will be safe and good. #GRATEFUL for u and the blessings that u represented in my life,” he wrote.

The music star was buried according to Muslim rites on Sunday in the United States of America.

Victor AD mourns TB Joshua, says he healed him of skin disease

Victor AD also revealed how TB Joshua gave him over a million naira when he was going through some challenges.

The singer, who made this known in an Instagram post titled, ‘Tribute To Prophet TB Joshua,’ said the pastor showed him so much undeserved love.

He wrote; “My Dad, late Mr Emmanuel Adere introduced me and my entire family to SCOAN in 1996 and ever since then you’ve been a blessing to us.

“I still remember how God used you to heal me of a skin disease as a little boy, after moving from one hospital to another but all to no avail. You showed me so much undeserving love, helped my family and me countless times.

“I remember when I was going through some challenges and I was planning to speak to you about it. But before I did you, reached out to me and gave me over a million naira, and I was like, I was about to tell you that I was going through challenges. You smiled and said I know what you are going through… God is with you. I felt peace in my heart.

“You taught me how to pray for grace and God’s mercy and exclude all boasting from my achievements. You never judged me even when you knew my flaws. You welcomed me with so much love and said everyone makes mistakes and mistakes are correctable.

“I can go on and on… words are too weak to express your good deeds for this generation. We love you, Daddy. Rest on till will meet again.”

TB Joshua died on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at the age of 57.

The popular pastor was laid to rest in his church premises at Ikotun, Lagos on Friday, July 9, 2021.

Sound Sultan dies of throat cancer at 44

He died following a hard-fought battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, which is a group of related cancers that affect the lymphatic system.

Recall that in May, it was reported that the artiste was diagnosed with throat cancer in the United States.

He was said to have commenced chemotherapy in one of the hospitals in the country.

Sound Sultan, whose career in show business started in the 1990s, however, died two months later.

The versatile artist is survived by his wife, three children and siblings.

May his soul rest in peace.

Obama DMW reportedly died of suspected heart failure at a hospital in Lekki, Lagos state on Tuesday, June 29.

In a long post shared via his Instagram page on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, the music expressed his sadness over the demise of one of his close associates.

“This is by far the hardest thing I’ve had to write. I am hurt, broken, sad, and lost. For the first time in my life, I am EXTREMELY confused. The pain is one I cannot explain. 44 was more than an elder brother to me, he was a protector,” he wrote.

‘Learn marshal act to defend yourself’ – Stella Damasus advises women as she slams those who accused her of promoting domestic violence

The movie star made this known while reacting to the comments she got from some men after she shared a clip from a movie on her Instagram page.

In the clip, a woman walked into her husband cheating and instead of the stereotype reaction of sobbing or denial, she attacked him with her marshal skills.

“For me posting that video was not in any form promoting domestic violence,” she said.

 

According to Damasus, the reason she posted the video was to show a different side of the story. A side, different from the typical Nigerian movie where the man would abuse or send the wife out of the house.

The actress slammed those who questioned her motive behind the release of the video.
