Chrisland gives detailed account of Dubai trip

The Management of Chrisland Schools, Lagos State has given a detailed account of the trip to the World Schools Games in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where some of its pupils engaged in sex and filmed it.

A member of the school’s Advisory Board, Akin Fadeyi, gave the detailed account in a statement he issued on Sunday.

The school came under spotlight again on Sunday after a sex video involving four male and one female pupils trended on the social media.

In it, a female pupil was seen having sex with a male pupil, while one of them filmed it. Following the controversy, the Lagos State Government has shut the schools, with the Lagos State Police Command announcing it had commenced investigation.

Fadeyi revealed that for the World Schools Games held in Dubai between March 10 and 13, 2022, 76 children were taken, with five of them misbehaving.

He also said conscious efforts were made to separate the male and female, adding that for the girl involved in the show of shame, the management of the school did not take her for pregnancy test as alleged by the mother in a video.

He said in the statement: “We have followed up on reports making the rounds on certain developments bordering on the morals and ethics of some of the students under our care, who represented the school at the World School games, Dubai between 8 and 14 of March 2022.

“While we understand the emotions this has generated, we assure the public that our first approach as an institution was to assume parental roles by offering support to those involved and ensuring that nothing affected their senses of esteem.

“However, after a comprehensive evaluation of the situation, we cannot help but express how scandalised and distressed we feel as mothers, fathers and instructors with a relationship that holds a direct bearing on the development of those involved.

“Nonetheless, we took a critical view of the number of students who partook in this recent trip and who did the school proud in …

“Have you been physically abused before? If you’ve not been then you don’t have any idea of what physically abused women are going through, so you have no moral right to abuse them or talk about them anyhow.

“What they need from you is your words of encouragement, your help and your prayers.

“I’ve been physically, emotionally and mentally abused by two different men and I know how it felt.

“The first one was at a younger age. He didn’t only abuse me, but carted away with all my money and my properties, I mean all that I worked for as a young girl.

According to reports, Shadrach Agyei Owusu filed this suit against Black Sherif because the artiste has abandoned him after he invested in his career.

Several weeks ago, Black Sherif signed a distribution deal with Empire, an American distribution company and record label.

Days later, concerns came from the camp of his supposed manager, who claimed that the artiste had signed the deal without telling him.

Sources suggest the contract between Black Sherif and this investor requires that the artiste carries out all his activities through the him – Shadrack Agyei Owusu.

As a result of that, he has filed a writ praying the court to grant him about four relieves.

He wants the court to prevent Black Sherif from performing at events that he has not given consent to. In addition, he has requested the court to order all funds accrued from the artiste’s online streams to be preserved.

Shadrach also wants a receiver to be taking the proceeds of all funds that will be accrued from any activity that Black Sherif engages in.

Osinachi: CAN petitions IGP, seeks investigation of her husband

The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, over the alleged murder of a gospel artiste, Osinachi Nwachukwu, by her husband, Peter Nwachukwu.

The National Chairman of YOWICAN, Belusochukwu Enwere, authored the petition made available to newsmen on Monday.

The petition reads: “We humbly write on behalf of YOWICAN, the umbrella body that coordinates and oversees the affairs of all the Christian Youths in Nigeria, over the sudden death of Osinachi Nwachukwu.

“Prior to her demise, the deceased was a gospel minister, a singer and an artiste. She was a devoted Christian and worshipped at Dunamis International Church, Airport Road, Lugbe, Abuja, and was 42 years old as at the time of her death. “The deceased, Osinachi Nwachukwu was married to Peter Nwachukwu (the prime suspect) who also doubles as her manager, and with whom she had four children, all minors.

“Information reaching us from reliable sources, including friends and close family members, has it that Osinachi Nwachukwu died as a result of injuries owing to domestic violence in the hands of her said husband, Peter Nwachukwu.

“We as well gathered that the act of domestic violence has persisted unabated and has been largely kept away from the Christian fold and the general public before this unfortunate episode that led to her death, owing to the severe injuries she sustained, which mostly affected her vital organs.

“Our prayers: It is in the light of the foregoing that we as leaders and representatives of the Christian youth body, of which Minister Osinachi Nwachukwu was a dedicated member, hereby petitions that you use your good offices to cause an in-depth investigation into the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate death of this renowned music evangelist in order to ensure justice for late Minister Osinachi Nwachukwu, especially the purported role played by her husband that led to her death in order to ensure that she gets justice, while bringing the perpetrators to book. Thank you Sir, in anticipation of a speedy investigation.”…

Ex-NHIS boss urges youths to unite against insecurity, bad governance

A former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Prof. Usman Yusuf, has called on Nigerian youths to unite against insecurity and bad governance.

Yusuf gave the charge, Saturday night, during a virtual youths summit organized by the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization Americas (NIDO) and Nigeria Diaspora Network (NDN).

The event, which was monitored by newsmen in Abuja, was titled: “Youth and National Development in Nigeria.”

Yusuf said the recent Abuja-Kaduna bound train attack was a mortal existential threat to the country, saying that it was disheartening that the elders are disconnected from the youths. The ex-NHIS boss, who recalled the bond of love and understanding that existed among Muslim and Christian students while growing up, charged the youths to unite together irrespective of religious, ethnic, language or political barrier.

“This country, Nigeria, has given my generation so much that we can never give back.

“I am an optimist and wherever I go, I tell the youths my history.

“I attended a Catholic school and I was the only Muslim in my class.

“We went into the world and competed favourably. The so-called village school we went were better than the best school presently.

“This was the Nigeria of my time. We had bond of relationship between Christians, Muslins and different tribes,” Yusuf said.

The former NHIS boss who decried the rate of insecurity in the country, called on the youths to unite against it, recalling the time he went with Sheik Ahmad Gumi into the forests to persuade the bandits to change from their bad ways.

He expressed concern at the rate the youths in Nigeria now get involved in criminalities like the Boko Haram, ISWAP, IPOB and the destruction that followed the #ENDSARS protest, among others.

“Nigeria has changed,” he said.

According to him, public service is seeing as a way to enrich our pocket and not for the interest of the country.

Yusuf, who emphasized the importance of youths’ involvement in nation building, urged them to be ready to actively participate in the political process.…

Buhari seeks National Assembly’s approval for N4t fuel subsidy

President Muhammadu Buhari has formally requested the National Assembly’s approval of N4 trillion for fuel subsidy in the proposed amendment to the 2022 Fiscal Framework.

Buhari made the request in a letter sent to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.

The Speaker read the letter during plenary on Thursday.

The letter said: “As you are aware, there have been new developments both in the global economy as well as in the domestic economy which have necessitated the revision of the 2022 Fiscal Framework on which the 2022 Budget was based. “These developments include spikes in the market price of crude oil, aggravated by the Russian Ukraine war, significantly lower oil production volume due principally to production shut-ins as a result of massive theft of crude oil between the production platforms and the terminals.

“The decision to suspend the removal of Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS) subsidy at a time when high crude oil prices have elevated the subsidy cost has significantly eroded government revenues. There is also the need to make adequate provisions for the recent enhancements of allowances for officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force to boost their morale as they grapple with heightened security challenges in the country.

“Following these developments, it has become necessary to adjust the fiscal framework and accordingly amend the 2022 Appropriation Act to ensure its successful implementation.

“The adjustments to the 2022 Fiscal Framework include an increase in the project oil price benchmark by US$11 per barrel, from US$62 per barrel to US$73 per barrel. A reduction in the projected oil production volume by 283,000 barrels per day from 1.883 million barrels per day to 1.600 million barrels per day.

“An increase in the Estimated provision for PMS subsidy for 2022 by N3.557 trillion from N442.72 billion to N4.00 trillion. A cut in the provision for Federally-funded upstream projects is being implemented by N200 billion. from N352.80 billion to N152.80 billion.

Ghana grows the ‘best’ weed; Why are we not capitalizing on it? – John Dumelo

Dumelo, who is also a farmer, posted on Twitter that the impending benefits Germany is about to gain from legalizing the plant should make Ghanaian authorities rethink.

This is because, in his view, Ghana should not be borrowing from western countries that act swiftly to gain from their resources when the country has more of such resources.

“Germany is set to make billions of Euros from taxes by legalizing marijuana. Then we will turn around and go and borrow that same money with interest for our development, forgetting that we (Ghana) grow the best marijuana in the world. Ain’t we smart?”

He has therefore urged Ghana’s government to consider legalizing the planting and commercial use of marijuana in the country.

To him, when this is done, the country can reap a lot of revenue from it.

He believes marijuana can create the most viable source of revenue for the country than any other crop if it is considered carefully.

A Neuroscientist Drug Researcher at the University of Columbia, Professor Carl Hart, urged Ghana to reevaluate its position on the plant in 2019.

At the time when the legalization of the drug generated enormous public attention and the Bill had not yet been passed by Parliament, the Professor said,

“People are making money out of this and we have to implement it and improve on its education.”

Other advocates did not hide their desire to see the decriminalization of the drug.

A Former Executive Secretary of Ghana’s Narcotics Control Board (NACOB), Akrasi Sarpong, spoke to the BBC when he was the head of the Board and said that the “war” being waged on marijuana is destined to fail because a lot of people believe “what you are fighting is not a

Bandits: We’ll kill train passengers if FG fails to meet our demands; Records video at Army base + Photo

The bandits who abducted passengers on a Kaduna-bound train last month have threatened to kill them if the Federal Government fails to meet their demands.

In a video released on Wednesday, the armed men said they were not interested in money, adding that the Federal Government knows what they were asking for.

The video, which was less then two minutes, had four of the bandits with one of the abducted passengers: Alwan Hassan, Managing Director of Bank of Agriculture.

One of them, who spoke in Hausa, said the MD was released due to his age and in the spirit of Ramadan. Daily Trust observed that the terrorists, clad in military uniform, made the video at the Forward Operational Base in Polwire, Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State, which was attacked on Monday.

One of the Armoured Personnel Carriers that was burnt during the attack was used as a background in the video.

The spokesman said: “We are the group that kidnapped passengers on the train few days ago.

“Among them is this man that was pleading with us due to his old age and we felt pity on him due to the month of Ramadan, so, we want to give him back to his family.

“But the government should not misunderstand this, as it is a gesture we made because of the pity we had on him.”

The bandits then asked the MD to make some remarks.

Speaking briefly, Hassan said he was released out of pity.

He said: “I want to witness to everyone that they took pity on me due to my old age.

“I was told to go out but I want to assure everyone that I left huge number of people behind and they are in situation that requires help for them to be released fast.

“I hope that government will meet the head of this group to release as them as soon as possible.”

One of the bandits added: “I want to reiterate that what he said is true.

“Don’t try to try to investigate us immediately …

2023 PDP presidential ticket: I was quoted out of context ― Ortom

The Benue State Governor and Chairman of the Zoning Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, Samuel Ortom, has said that he was quoted out of context on the zoning of the party’s presidential ticket for the 2023 election.

The position of the Governor was contained in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Nathaniel Ikyur, on Wednesday.

Ikyur said Ortom spoke on an Arise TV program: “Morning Show.”

The Governor was quoted as having said: “So I want to clear the insinuation that the zoning committee has thrown open the presidential ticket. “I did inform the media yesterday that the committee had adopted a unanimous position to be presented to the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party.

“Where did I say that the committee has thrown open the presidential ticket?

“The committee will present the report to NEC.

“It is NEC that has the final authority on the zoning of positions.

“As far as the committee was concerned, there were arguments that the presidential ticket should go to the South.

“Some said it should go to the Northern part of the country.

“There were others who were of the opinion that it should be thrown open to allow the best candidate who will be able to deliver good governance and make Nigerians feel like human beings again, contest.

“As the chairman of the committee, I did not say it has been thrown up.

“So it is very wrong for anyone to insinuate that we have thrown the presidential ticket open.

“I am still repeating that, whatever we did, we have submitted our report to NEC.

“So it is wrong for the media to come out with a position despite the fact that they were not members of the committee.

“So it is wrong completely.

“I did not say that.

“And like I said, NEC is the final authority on deciding where the position will be zoned to.

“And the party leadership is consciously working towards ensuring that the party gets it right this time.

“I believe that at the …
